Hawkeye Holiday Sectional Results

The Hawkeye Holiday Sectional had 221 ½ tables of play with 233 players participating. 201 players earned a total of 787.38 silver masterpoints. Valerie Laing and David Stark were the top winners for the tournament. The top ten finishers from Unit 216 were Valerie Laing and David Stark (18.69 masterpoints), Gregg Walsh (14.89), Toby White (14.16), Jayne Larson (13.80), Jim McGinn (13.75), Char Hendryx (13.47), Margie Brennan (12.37), John Gustafson (11.55) and Betty Yount-Perry (11.30).

The top ten finishers in our Unit with less than 300 masterpoints were Sharon Calkins (9.81), Helen Hom (7.31), Dom Antonelli (6.93), Joyce Judas (6.71), Barb Schipper (6.46), Anita Geer (6.32), Kay Henderson (5.08), Scott Riley (5.07), and Audrey Couse and Craig Nelsen (4.77).

Unit 216 Statistics

Our average age in Unit 216 has crept up to 69.15 which is still below ACBL’s average age of 69.83. Our average years of membership is 19.57. This is above ACBL’s average of 19.26, but below District 14 with an average of 21.79 years.
